barleyy. visions of another life, songs from another place.
barleyy moves between two worlds: the reality i live in and the visions of another life that come to me. the songs move back and forth between them. some are about this reality. others come from inside the visions.
i don't know what the visions are. they feel familiar, like a life i might have lived before, but i can't tell if they are memories or something else. that mystery is the center of the project.
one morning a ladybug fell off my shoulder and i wrote a song about it. that became prologue: a ladyybug, the prologue. it was followed by light pollution, pt. 1, about a star you used to be able to see, and crossing, about crossing into this other life. the newest song is what makes u lonelyy at night, about an imaginary friend you forgot.
